Our Faith Overview

The faith of the Episcopal Church is nothing other than the Christian faith as expressed in the Bible and summarized in the ancient belief statements of the Church, the Nicene and Apostles' creeds. The Episcopal Church is a member of the worldwide Anglican Communion, the churches around the world that trace their roots to the Church of England.

Anglican churches are directly descended from the Early Church. We worship using the the Book of Common Prayer and accept Holy Baptism and the Holy Eucharist as the two great sacraments of the Gospel. Anglicans acknowledge the Bible as the Word of God and interpret it in light of the Christian tradition and human reason.
