Associate Rector for Christian Formation

The Rev. Ted Welty returned to Christ Church on May 1, 2018. He is the past Rector of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Palestine, where he had been since August of 2009. Prior to that he served as Interim Rector at Christ Episcopal Church in Tyler after serving as Associate Dean at Nashotah House, an Episcopal theological seminary located in Wisconsin. Before moving to Wisconsin, he was Associate Dean at the Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry, also an Episcopal theological seminary, in Ambridge, Pennsylvania. Ted was educated at Texas Lutheran University (BA in English) and Central Michigan University (MA in Management). He received his theological training (MLitt in Divinity) at St. Mary’s College, the School of Divinity at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland. In previous careers, Ted was Chairman and CEO of the Royall National Bank of Palestine and before that spent 20 years in the United States Air Force as a pilot.
